My name is Virginia Faircloth and I am the maker behind Pisgah Candles. I live in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains with my husband, 2 daughters, puppy, 2 bunnies, 2 gerbils and 6 chickens. I love nature, mountain biking, snowboarding and yoga to name a few things.

I started Pisgah Candles during the pandemic. I thought to myself, “What do we need if the electricity goes out? Candles. How can I make a candle and not create more waste?” After brainstorming with some friends and family, the idea of a concrete vessel with a drainage hole was born! I knew I wanted everything to be as non-toxic as possible. It took me 2 years of testing concrete, sealers, wicks, wax and scents to get the perfect clean burn.

I have been a graphic designer for 15 years and have been sitting behind a desk for a long time! The idea of making something and selling it at festivals has always been a dream of mine. I am happy to say that I did my first market at the White Squirrel Artisan Market in the summer of 2022 and since then I have been selling our candles in two stores in Brevard, NC and have been a part of many amazing markets around WNC.
